Meet the Principal

Welcome to Emily Dickinson Elementary School and Explorer Community School!

At Emily Dickinson Elementary and Explorer Community Schools, we are dedicated to partnering with students, families, and the community to provide an equitable and inclusive education. Our focus is on fostering social, emotional, and academic growth and success for every student. We believe that by working together, we can create a supportive environment where all students thrive.

This is my first year as your principal, and my sixteenth year in the Lake Washington School District. I began my career teaching third grade in the state of Georgia, before moving back to my home state of Washington, where I taught both first and third grades for LWSD. I started my career in administration within the District as an Associate Principal for the last nine years at both Redmond and Blackwell Elementary Schools before making my transition into the principal role at Dickinson and Explorer Community Elementary Schools. I am honored to have the opportunity to serve this community and your students.

On a personal note, I live in Redmond with my 6 year old son, Milo, who is very much looking forward to being a first grade Dreagle this year. When I am not at school, I love traveling, chasing the sun, exploring new trails and beaches with my son, taking boxing classes, going to concerts and watching sporting events, and spending quality time with family and friends making new memories together.

I am very much looking forward to a wonderful year of learning more about this incredible school community and getting to know you and your students better. Your involvement and collaboration are essential to our mission, and we look forward to a year filled with learning, growth, and achievement.
